Remembrance
The price paid for the liberated lands was thousands of lives. This section is about remembrance and mourning.
Remembrance
In Azerbaijan, those who fall for the Homeland are called shehids. According to official Azerbaijani data, around 2,900 or more servicemen died in the Patriotic War; precise and independent estimates of the sides' losses differ. Among the victims were also civilians killed during the shelling of cities.
It is important to remember that the war claimed the lives of people on both the Azerbaijani and the Armenian side — soldiers and civilians alike. The memory of the fallen is a shared grief that goes beyond any single point of view.

Remembrance
The main place of remembrance in Baku is the Alley of Martyrs (Şəhidlər Xiyabanı), where those who fell for the country's independence over the years rest. After the 2020 war, Victory Park opened in Baku, with a museum and a triumphal arch dedicated to the Patriotic War.
